Aganman The Chameleon: Case Study

Project Overview

Aganman The Chameleon is an action‑strategy mobile game developed by Bourg Console. Players control Scales, a chameleon on a wild hunt for diamonds in ever-changing, procedurally generated worlds. The game combines survival instincts, reflexes, and strategy in a constantly shifting environment.

Our Responsibilities
  • Design a game with endless, dynamic levels (no fixed maps).
  • Allow for high replayability through procedural generation. Implement unique chameleon abilities (tongue, tail swipe, camouflage, etc.).
  • Balance risk and reward: collecting diamonds while avoiding enemies. 
  • Include a scoring and reward system to motivate players (e.g., “reach 100,000 points”). 
  • Provide daily or weekly challenges, power‑ups, and unlockable skins
  • Create immersive graphics and audio for each biome. 
  • Monetize via in-app purchases and ads.
Key Features Developed

Dynamic Procedural Levels

Worlds are dynamically generated, ensuring no two runs feel the same. Environments include shifting biomes and even moving chessboard-style layouts.

Chameleon Abilities

Tongue mechanic: Use the tongue to grab diamonds or attack spiders. Tail swipe: Clear paths or hide from danger. Camouflage: Blend in to avoid enemies. Special attacks: Fire breath or “fart” mechanic to eliminate threats.

Enemy Avoidance & Hazard Management

Face camouflaged hazards like spiders and aggressive predators. Use strategy and reflexes to survive — not just speed

Scoring & Replayability

Aim to hit 100,000 points, unlocking high scores and rewards. Procedural generation ensures each run is fresh and challenging

Power-Ups, Rewards & Customization

Speed boosts, shields, and other power-ups help your survival. Daily and weekly challenges to keep engagement high. Unlockable skins or appearances for Scales.

Immersive Audio-Visual Experience

High-quality 3D visuals with dynamic lighting. Ambient audio tailored to different biomes.
